Hi everyone,

I see there have been a few questions asked about Trent's future speedway plans over the weekend. I can now confirm that Trent has retired from British Speedway.

This has been a well thought out decision and the Glasgow management have now been told. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of Trent's supporters, sponsors and the Glasgow management and riders.

Trent will post his own thanks within the next few days.

Thank you again to everyone for your support since Trent stepped into the Glasgow colours in 2003 and we would like to wish Glasgow management and riders all the best for the future.

The Newcastle Diamonds produced another spectaculor performance on Sunday winning by 17 over the Rye House Rockets. After a win first time out Trent had engine problems and retired in 2 of his remaining 3 races

Trento guested for Workington at Armadale riding at number 2 he cored 2 from 4 rides including being bumped off the trck in heat 1 and being forced to retire

Trent along with Glasgow Tiger Mitchell Davey visited St Philomenas Primary as part of the radiowaves initaitive with Glasgow City Council Education Services. GCC and the school would like to thank both boys for their time

Trent makes a triumphant return to Ashfield to score paid 7. It could and should have been more as he was in scoring positions twice when races were stopped.. In heat 14 he was well ahead when Bach hit the fence causing a restart.

The Newcastle “Sapphire Engineering” Diamonds appear at last to have got their 2009 season back on the rails after a solid and decent show at Birmingham Brummies last night.

Newcastle took a one-point lead in the opening race, won by Larsen over the powerhouse that is Jason Lyons with Leverington dropping by the wayside with a sick engine and Manu Hauzinger falling out of the race early on.

He  started with a solid second in heat 1. In heat 6 he has a clash with Danny Warwick and in heat 13 he takes the rider replacement ride and unfortunately crashes and is excluded.

After the team were all threatened by Manager Richard Juul that they were riding for their jobs after disappointing performances on Friday night, Trent did his cause no harm at all with two wins for an 8+2. His heat 9 victory over Glasgow Heat Leader James Grieves will hopefully give him confidence. Surprisingly missed out of heat 15

Jonasson and Trento from the start, with Jonasson exiting turn 2 in the lead, but Leverington swept passed him down the back straight - Jonasson gave chase and entering the last lap he squeezed between Leverington and the fence to re-take the lead.

Trent will make his comeback on Sunday against Sheffield. Although not fully fit he does not want to let the team down and miss any more matches

Trent has had to pull out of tonights match after injuries he sustained at Workington last night. Trent has injuries to his side and has been advised to rest for two weeks. However he reckons he will be back next Sunday

Trent had an up and down night  at Workington. He had two last and also was part of an 8-1 with his team mate in heat 7.

Trent was also brought crashing to the track by Andre Compton and although he finished the meeting had to take a trip to hospital to get his injuries checked out.

Finally the season has started. It has been a busy few weeks leading up to the season opener. All the Newcastle riders, mechanics and promotion met up for a good day of paintball. It was a real fun day and the perfect way for us all to get to know each other better. The following 2 days was flat out with practice at the track so that we were all 100% ready.
Berwick was the 1st meeting we had as a team and I could have not asked for a better start by going out and winning my 1st ever race in Newcastle colours and then doing on to top score for the team with 13 points.

The following night was the return meeting at Newcastle and to get a paid win with Kenni Larsen in heat 3 was what I needed to settle the nerves of starting with a new club.  I went on to finish with 8 points and we managed to win overall so everyone was happy with the way the 1st weekend of the 2009 season had gone.

Trent made his Newcastle Diamonds debut tonight at Berwick in the first leg of the Tyne Tweed Trophy.

He had three victories and twoseconds in his 12 points. He defeated home favourite and former diamond J Franc in two of the races. Makovsky for the home team top scored with 14. Derek Sneddon scored 11 for the diamonds

80 PENCE FOR 80 YEARS  

After a run out last week on the track Trent returns to Newcastle this week for their special 80pence for 80 years meeting.

No fewer than 12 riders will feature in this weekend's 80p Open Practice session to launch the 2009 speedway season on Tyneside.

Newcastle's 2009 squad of Jason King, Craig Branney, Kenni Larsen, Casper Wortmann, Derek Sneddon, Trent Leverington and Steve Boxall will take to the track alongside invited guests in an afternoon of demonstrations and challenges.
